What is OnePassNZ?

The OnePassNZ is a RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) ‘smart card’ that electronically stores all your lift passes and mountain products. Goodbye paper tickets, hello convenience! It also acts as an ‘activity pass’ if you decide not to ski for the day. The OnePassNZ has been put together with freedom & flexibility in mind.

Your OnePassNZ card is personalised to you. This means that you can set up a profile and purchase Snow$ and/or any of the mountain products below.

  • Lift passes
  • Gear rental
  • Lift & rental packages
  • Group lessons
  • One hour private lessons

All the products are stored on your card for ease of use. The OnePassNZ card can be topped up online or at any OnePassNZ outlet.

How can my OnePassNZ be used to pay for activities rather than skiing?

If you decide not to ski for the day you can login to your OnePassNZ profile and ‘convert’ your OnePassNZ products for Snow $. These Snow $ can then be used towards any of the 42 off mountain activities listed on the website/brochure.  Some activities may have Snow$ restrictions and it pays to check with the operator.

What are Snow$

Snow $ are our way of giving you maximum value and flexibility. Once Snow$ are loaded onto your card simply swipe your OnePassNZ at any one of our 42 off mountain activity partners or at participating on-mountain outlets.

How do I get Snow$?

You can purchase Snow$ directly online or at a OnePassNZ outlet.

Alternatively if you decide not to ski for the day you can convert your pre purchased mountain products into Snow$. The easiest way to do this is by logging onto your online account via smartphone or computer. OnePassNZ outlets and activity partners are also able to carry out conversions.

What are Snow$ worth?

When purchased directly each Snow$1 has a value of $1NZD.

If you are converting mountain products into Snow$ you will receive approximately 90% of the retail value of each product. For instance an adult day lift pass converts to Snow$85.

Can I use Snow$ on the mountain?

Snow$ can be used at participating mountain outlets to purchase lift passes, rental, lesson and food & beverage. Simply load your card with Snow$ and leave your wallet at home. It is a great idea to pay for the kid’s lunches! Unfortunately Snow$ are not accepted in the mountain retail/snow shops or in childcare centres.

How many Snow$ can I use in any one transaction?

There is no limit to the number of Snow$ you spend on the mountain each day.

Off the mountain most OnePassNZ partners will accept a maximum of Snow$85 per transaction. This amount can be used as part-payment for a higher priced activity. However some activity operators may accept more than Snow$85 so it does pay to ask.

What if I have Snow$ or ski products left on my card at the end of my holiday?

If you’re lucky enough to be coming back for another visit in the same season, then your balance will be waiting for you.

Any balance left on your OnePassNZ will be valid to the end of the winter (31st October 2013) but it will not roll over beyond that. Unused Snow$ are non-refundable. Our advice, use those Snow $ up. Have a beer, watch a movie, and book a massage. Make the most of your holiday and don’t waste a dollar.

Can I pick up someone else’s pass for them?

No. Each person in a group/family/couple must collect their own OnePassNZ and have a photo taken at the time of issue.

Your OnePassNZ card will link you with any products that you have purchased. Once your photo has been taken, and your pass has been issued, then you are ready to go. Your OnePassNZ can then be used at any of our 42 off mountain activities and 7 ski areas.

The OnePassNZ card I collect, is that my lift pass?

At Cardrona and Treble Cone your pass is direct to lift. This means you don’t need to go to the ticket office. Instead go straight to the lifts with your OnePassNZ card in your pocket. Once at the lift the smart gate will automatically scan your pass. This means no waiting for a manual ticket scanner, no fumbling for passes at the lift line, and, hopefully, less queue time!

However if you are skiing or riding at one of the other 5 ski areas you will need to present your OnePassNZ at the ticket office. It will be scanned and exchanged for a paper pass. Because lift passes at some of these mountains have a lesser value you may be left with ‘change’ on your card in the form of additional Snow$.

How do I activate my online account?

If you haven’t had a card before you can go to OnePassNZ.com and ACTIVATE your profile by entering the code on your card.

Now you can create a user name and password. From here you will be able to manage your products, top up your card online, create Snow$ out of products and view where you have been skiing.

Can I track how many km’s I have skied?

As Cardrona & Treble Cone has the RFID technology you can view the lift rides and your vertical metres achieved each day.

What does RFID mean?

RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification. It is the most effective and sustainable ski area ticketing system available.

Each OnePassNZ has a micro-chip installed within it, which can be linked to your personal profile on the online server.

This clever technology can see what you have used and what is remaining on your card.

What should I do if I lose my OnePassNZ Card?

Your OnePassNZ is not transferable.
